I *wrote* my first book at age 6. It was completely plagiarized, but I spent hours copying it word for word in my best printing, so that should count for something. Years later, I graduated from UCLA with a B.A. in Communication Studies and began working in television casting. After ten years in the industry, I quit my job to go back to school, and received my teaching credential and Masters in Teaching from Chapman University. I taught kindergarten and third grade. California is where I make my home with my husband and four kids.
When I’m not writing, you can find me beating up the bag at my kickboxing gym, cheering my kids on at their numerous sporting events, or walking my dogs.
*I worked on shows including The X Files, Married…With Children, Sabrina, the Teenage Witch, and Party of Five.
*I married the guy next door.
*I’ve thought long and hard about this, and if I could steal anyone’s singing voice and make it my own, I’d choose Lauren Alaina’s.
*I became obsessed with Australia as a kid. I’ve been there three times, and it always feels like home.
*While in Australia, I inadvertently took a shower with a spider the size of my shoe.
*A Ring of Endless Light by Madeleine L’ Engle was one of my favorite books as a kid. I still love it.
*I’d make a great detective or secret agent. (Or maybe I’m just really good at watching Dateline.)
*I ran a 10k without training for it just to prove to my husband I could.
*Every time I read an animal book aloud to my kids, I cry. It’s pathetic, really.
*Spicy food is my favorite!
